Halau O Na Pua Kukui dances Ka Hale Niu O Ka Pali (The Palms Cliff House) at the 2004 Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii, on the Big Island. Composed by Jon Nouchi with musical arrangement by Lopaka Hoopii in April 2003, the mele (song) honors the Gamble family and their home; paying tribute to the Halau's time spent at the Inn and the wonderful memories they created there. Not only did the Halau honor the Gamble family with the mele, but they also asked John and Michele and their two sons, Matthew and John Jr., to to be present on stage with them during the performance. You can see the John & Michele and their two sons lead the ladies to the stage and standing at the back of the stage during the performance. The performance begins with an acknowledgment of John and Michele and their home in Honomu, A once in a lifetime experience that none of the participants will ever forget. A true gift of Aloha.
