Surrounding Area

The Palms Cliff House Inn is located on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Also known as the "green" side of the Island. The area is rich in agricultural diversity. Local farmers raise beef and dairy cattle, goats, and pig, both wild and domestic pig. In the fields you will see everything from tropical florals to banana, ginger, palms and of course macadamia nuts. We have a small macadamia nut orchard here at the inn.

Honomu Town is the Gateway to Akaka Falls

Honomu Town is a charming small plantation village that still reflects the feeling of the old plantation days. There are several small local style places to eat and several nice galleries, post office, local shops, a bakery, and small general store. There is an old church row, town gym and large park as well. If you are going to Akaka Falls, you will pass through the town of Honomu.
